We've spent lots of carpet time reading together. We predict what might happen, talk about if it could be a true story (laying the ground work of deciphering fiction vs. non-fiction text), listing the characters, plot, and setting. As I'm building the framework of literary devices and terms, my favorite part of our carpet time reading is watching their faces in anticipation as I'm about to turn the page. They just love to be read to. And, I just love reading to them. I hope you enjoy our pictures below of some of the books we've fallen in love with in just the first six weeks of school.
